ISAF Plaques
Many people competing in this years World Championhips have raised concerns about the ISAF plaques on the transom that give information about the boats sail number. I have had several worried parents contact me regarding these plaques. Owners have explained that the ISAF plaque has fallen off, maybe after a good clean of the boat, was not present when purchasing 2nd hand boat or that the boat was an insurance replacement. Many boats pre dating the ISAF recognition will not have an ISAF plaque at all. At the World Championships we need to ensure that all competitors sail with their own sail number and that there are no duplications hence the need to ensure that all sail numbers match your ISAF or boat number.
If you are one of the people who is coming to the World Championships this year who has a boat with no form of sail number identification sticker to please contact me directly. I will need your VIN number which is the number printed on the transom of the boat, I will be able to use the VIN number to confirm your sail number.
If you have a charter boat and are using your own sail number from your boat back home then this will be the only exception to this rule but please ensure your sail number matches your own boats number or that of the boats you borrow at your club.
